DESCRIPTION:National Archives at Kansas City will screen the documentary film Uniquely Nasty: The U.S. Government's War on Gays. It will be followed by a panel discussion with equality policy advocates. A free light reception will precede the film at 6:00 p.m.\n\nUniquely Nasty explores a dark and little-known chapter of America's recent political past\, when gays and lesbians were barred from working for the U.S. Federal government. Through its "sex deviates" program\, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) secretly collected hundreds of thousands of files on the sex lives of American citizens.  \n\nFollowing the screening of the film a panel discussion will be moderated by Christopher Leitch\, with Kristi Smith Wyatt of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce\, Kendall Seal\, an attorney in Kansas City and board member of Promoting Equality for All Missourians (PROMO)\, and military analyst LTC Dr. Robert Hill\, USA Retired. \n\nTo make a reservation for this free film program email kansascity.educate@nara.gov or call 816-268-8010.
