DESCRIPTION:The board of the Mid-America LGBT Chamber of Commerce invites you to join them and Honorary Chairs\, The Honorable Kay Barnes and Founding Chamber Board President Dan Nilsen\, at the inaugural Business Equality Awards Luncheon.  The luncheon will be held on Wednesday\, June 12th in the Grand Room at Grand Street Caf  on the Country Club Plaza\, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Sponsorship Opportunities are available for companies and individuals (You can find those opportunities here) .  There are a limited number of sponsorships available so please act quickly to give your business the attention it deserves!\n\n \n\nWe are excited to announce that Mikah Meyer will deliver keynote remarks at the luncheon.  Mikah helped launch the Outdoors Industry Campaign for REI\, the international outdoor clothing & equipment retailer.  He will speak on how the outdoor industry market was missing out on LGBTQ dollars by not including the LGBTQ community and REI took notice.  They have since launched a whole line of clothing and items related to LGBTQ/Outdoors.  His experience of traveling to all 418 National Parks Service sites is part of a larger effort to create safe\, LGBTQ spaces in the outdoors for LGBTQ people.
