DESCRIPTION:Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City is proud to host its first Pride Build KC. We invite members of the Lesbian\, Gay\, Bisexual\, Transgender and Queer community to swing a hammer and build with us in support of our vision of a world where everyone has a safe place to call home. \n\n\n\nBy increasing the availability of affordable housing in Kansas City we can work to alleviate the issue of poverty housing and homelessness for all individuals. Statistics show that one in five transgender people in the United States have been discriminated against when seeking a home and one in ten have been evicted from their homes\, because of their gender. \n\nHabitat KC needs your help to achieve our vision of making Kansas City a place where everyone\, no matter your race\, gender\, sexuality or religion has a safe\, decent\, and secure place to live.
