DESCRIPTION:The Mid-America GLCC and Human Rights Campaign--KC are proud to co-present the fourth annual Transgender Day of Visibility on Wednesday\, March 28 at Californos in Westport. A Transgender Resource Fair will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 pm and a Reception from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.\n\n\n\nThe Transgender Day of Visibility is a day dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide. Colonel Sheri Swokowski (R)\, will serve as the keynote speaker. Col. Swokowski is the senior\, out\, transgender veteran in the country.\n\n\n\nWe hope you will consider supporting this event by serving as a Sponsor or Host.  Please see benefits below.\n\n\n\nMany in the transgender community are invisible in society\, either from fear of discrimination or by choice.  This very invisibility\, however\, increases the vulnerability of the community by allowing the problems of discrimination\, violence and other problems to go unnoticed\, unreported or assumed to be for other reasons.
