SUMMARY:Transformation in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) is an international event on March 31 dedicated to recognizing the resilience and accomplishments of the transgender community. The day celebrates Transgender and Gender Non-Binary (TGNB) individuals. It raises awareness about the transgender and gender non-binary community\, their struggles\, and what allies can do to eliminate the barriers this community faces. \n\n\nOur Chamber will celebrate the transgender and gender-diverse community by holding Transformation in the Workplace. \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\nTRAINING CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:\n\n \n\n12:00 PM | Transgender 101\, Navigating Terms\, and affirming TGNB\n\nFor people unfamiliar with LGBT terms and/or would like to know how to respectfully engage Transgender and Gender Non-Binary individuals. This opening session is an excellent refresher to those familiar\, and a great bite for newcomers. \n\n \n\n1:30 PM | Allyship & Advocacy\n\nWhat is the job of an Ally or an Advocate? How can our allies and advocates create safety and inclusion for Transgender & Non Binary people?  \n\nJoin our Allyship & Advocacy session to build (or add to) your allyship tool kit and learn how to put it into action immediately. \n\n \n\n1:30 PM | Understand and Leverage the HRC Corporate Equality Index\n\nLearn about the Corporate Equality Index and why it's beneficial to your business with Executive Director Suzanne Wheeler. \n\n \n\n2:15 PM Transgender 201 in the Workplace: Creating Belonging \n\nWhat does it mean to belong? How do we go beyond the basics of pronouns\, policies and bathrooms to engage in what it means to create an atmosphere of belonging. \n\n \n\n3:00 PM - 5:00 PM FOR ALL: Inclusion Resource Fair \n\nLocal organizations will exhibit their resources focusing on the transgender and gender non-binary communities.  This year businesses will also have the opportunity to host booths where they can discuss employment opportunities with community members.  The fair is open to everyone\, so we encourage gender-diverse community members\, families\, friends\, and business allies to attend. \n\n \n\nWe will offer two separate panels during our full day event:\n\n\n\n 12:45 PM | Supporting Trans Loved Ones & Panel \n\nTransgender and Gender Non-Binary employees and community members will share their workplace experiences and recommendations for how the business community can create inclusive and affirming spaces for the gender-diverse community.\n\n \n\n4:00 PM | A Panel of Transparency\n\n Transgender and Gender Non-Binary employees and community members will share their workplace experiences and recommendations for how the business community can create inclusive and affirming spaces for the gender-diverse community.\n\n \n \n\n \n\n\nResource Fair Table:\n\n\n\nIt's not too late to register your organization for our inclusion fair.
