SUMMARY:Virtual Diversity & Inclusion Workshop Series: Overcoming Unconscious Bias
DESCRIPTION:The Mid-America LGBT Chamber is excited to announce a partnership with the several KC Metro area Chambers to present the Virtual Diversity and Inclusion Workshop Series. This series creates a space where experts lead our members on a deep dive into the challenging topics surrounding diversity\, equity\, and inclusion. \n\n\n\nImplicit bias is part of being human and our species could not have survived without developing biases. Research has discovered that despite our best intentions we have deep seated resistance to the differences of others. Implicit biases can take the form of race\, gender\, physical appearance\, personality type or sexual orientation. Recognizing\, overcoming\, and learning to avoid implicit biases in business interactions is essential to creating a strong and diverse workforce.\n\nJoin the Henry E. Lyons\, an implicit bias counselor\, to learn the four steps people and businesses should take to manage unconscious biases.
