DESCRIPTION:For 25 years\, the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City has fostered grassroots action to eliminate the stigma\, suffering and spread of HIV/AIDS in our community. In observation of World AIDS Day 2017\, we affirm this commitment with two Think Global Act Local events: The World AIDS DAY Community Luncheon and the World AIDS Day Patron Party.\n\nOur time is one of great uncertainty and unease.  Though we wield proven and powerful therapeutic treatments to thwart the HIV epidemic\, federal legislation threatens to halt or reverse this progress\, promoting not the end but a resurgence of HIV in the United States.\n\nWe ask you to consider making a contribution to demonstrate that Kansas City will not let the clock turn back.You can find information on giving levels here.\n\nThe World AIDS Day Community Luncheon will be held on Wednesday\, November 29th\, 11:30 am to 1:00 pm\, in the Grand Room at Grand Street Cafe\, 4740 Grand Avenue\, Kansas City\, MO 64112.  At the luncheon\, Dr. Gail Wyatt\, PhD\, will share the keynote address.  Dr. Wyatt serves as Director of the UCLA Sexual Health Program and is a Professor in the University's Department of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences.  She also has conducted national and international HIV/AIDS research since 1980\, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Institute of Drug Abuse.\n\nDue to limited seating\, we ask that you RSVP with your sponsorship by November 17th to guarantee your spot at this special event.\n\nThe World AIDS Day Patron Party will be held on Tuesday\, November 28th\, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm\, at the beautiful home of Maurice Watson\, 1239 West 61st Terrace\, Kansas City\, MO 64113.\n\nNow is the time to strengthen our determination to achieve our vision of an HIV-free world.
