Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is an integral role that supports the entire organization.  The ideal candidate will be familiar with basic building comfort systems and will be able to troubleshoot HVAC Equipment.  They will be responsible for carpentry, landscaping, snow removal, lighting and event space maintenance.  Roofing repair and roofing systems knowledge is a plus.  Familiarity with kitchen equipment and small appliance repair a must.  Schedule is Monday thru Friday, day shift with overtime as needed and seasonal on-call during inclement weather. 

  • Responsible for snow removal in winter and managing landscape contractors
  • Assists other maintenance technicians with projects; transporting and/or securing materials, painting and completion of other assigned tasks
  • Constructs a variety of items (e.g. walls, decks, ramps, counters, furniture, etc)
  • Follows work orders and blueprints to determine materials and tools needed for projects
  • Additional project work, as assigned

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Familiarity with Grounds Maintenance tools/equipment
  • Familiarity with 277v electrical lighting circuits
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to interact with the Public
  • Relevant coursework or experience in building systems including HVAC and/or plumbing
  • Basic carpentry, painting, and electrical knowledge required
  • Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, push, pull required weights per established requirements for the department, as well as the ability to walk a majority of the day
