Spanish Translator

Position Summary: Provide the Spanish/English and English/Spanish translations versioning for Unity’s publications, communications, social media, Web, and other digital initiatives. Proofing publications of Unity to help ensure that they are free of grammatical, spelling, basic factual errors, and correct typeset, while assisting with the upkeep of the Spanish website. Must be a US citizen and must live in one of the following states listed, AZ, FL, GA, KS, NV, NC, SC, TN, TX, MO. 

Essential Job Functions:        

  1. Translate all Spanish/English and English/Spanish language Unity publications, both printed and electronic including magazines, books, booklets, newsletters, leaflets, pamphlets, brochures, advertisements, letters, fliers, prayer services, programs, order forms, marketing/promotional packages, Web copy.
  2. Proofread typeset versions of copyedited text to be sure they match.
  3. Communicate with client departments, operations, and other Unity staff to resolve questions of language, scheduling, copyediting, and proofreading marks.
  4. Collaborate with writers, editors, and other team members to maintain consistency in tone, style guidelines, and terminology across all projects.
  5. Continuously improve language proficiency and stay updated on changes in language usage and conventions.
  6. Review electronic files of La Palabra Diaria.
  7. Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule – this position is a remote position.
  8. Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines
  9. Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid time off request.

 

Nonessential Job Functions:

  1. Maintain knowledge of current Unity editorial style, brand strategy, and outside editorial trends, as available.
