Job Description?
The Surgical Performance Improvement Nurse Specialist will facilitate and coordinate complex performance improvement projects and cross train in all Surgery Department functional areas in order to build stability and standardization. The incumbent will provide expertise in the areas of quality improvement, patient safety, risk, utilization and efficiency and knowledge in Lean Six Sigma, and other Quality Improvement tools are recommended. Further responsibilities of the Surgical Performance Improvement RN Specialist involve collaboration with Surgery Department Operational and Medical Directors, managers and other healthcare experts to aid in developing training, monitoring surgery department clinical outcomes and system issues related to quality of care and efficiency.
