Summary Assist senior paralegal, attorneys, and law clerks by providing support services including project management, document preparation and review, research, and investigations.
Duties • Perform support and project management services for the Legal Department in such areas as audits, privacy and security, employee benefits, marketing material reviews, intellectual property, insurance renewals, and POAs, guardianships, and trusts • Support pre- and active litigation matters including managing case files, coordinating discovery, and conducting investigations • Assist with corporate governance matters related to GEHA and its subsidiaries drafting minutes and resolutions, preparing presentations, maintaining templates, and coordinating the annual member meeting • Prepare and monitor the Department’s budget including review and processing of legal invoices • Engage in non-complex research projects • Assist with process improvements related to policies, procedures, and SOPs and the maintenance of templates and the legal library • Develop and maintain knowledge management practices, including records retention and document destruction policies and procedures • Work on legal projects of limited complexity in a support role • Prepare federal and state regulatory filings as needed for GEHA and its subsidiaries
Education Requirements Requires a bachelor’s degree or combination of Paralegal certificate and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the job.
Experience Requirements • Requires 3+ years of equivalent and relevant work experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment. • Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. • Knowledge of SharePoint applications preferred.
