Printing, Distribution, and Shipping Manager

Position Summary: Manage the staff and operations of the shipping, receiving, mail operations, IT reports operation and copy center. Ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials and services needed by all departments to fulfill the mission.


Essential Job Functions:

  1. Plan and schedule use of departmental resources to meet all printing, processing, and mailing deadlines, as determined by the daily and end-of-day schedules; the master mailing schedule; Inventory Control Analyst; Project Leaders; internal departments and external clients.
  2. Maintain and issue requisitions for replenishment of departmental supplies, including paper, inks and other materials required for operation.
  3. Interview, hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop assigned employees. Conduct and document annual and ongoing employee performance evaluations.
  4. Conduct regular team meetings and encourage a team-oriented work environment.
  5. Assist Director by providing data for preparation of annual budget. Control departmental expenses to operate within budget.
  6. Manage daily communication with Unitys USPS pre-sorter to ensure completion and accuracy.
  7. Learn and apply knowledge of USPS regulations to ensure compliance for all outbound mailings.
  8. Responsible to interact with all departments and levels of management to determine and fulfill needs.
  9. Research new resources and identify best vendors to meet business operational needs.
  10. Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
  11. Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.
  12. Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.


Non-Essential Job Functions:

  1. Set up, sort and process electronic data into output files for inkjet/laser printer
  2. Set up and run high speed copiers, offset printing presses, inserters, cutters, tabber and folding machines and other equipment within the Department.
  3. Perform simple maintenance and repairs. Schedule more complicated PM (preventive maintenance) to ensure operational availability of equipment to meet production deadlines.
  4. Work within Infowit and InDesign to format and manipulate project and art files provided by internal or external clients to generate print &/or address files for production.

Education: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business, related field or equivalent on the job training


  1. Minimum two years progressive leadership experience.
  2. Five years experience in printing field.
  3. Minimum two years progressive experience in negotiation and contract agreement.

Computer Skills: Proficient end user of MS Office: MS Word, MS Outlook. Proficient with inventory management system.
