POSITION SUMMARY

Supports the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Project Superintendent in managing the overall construction project.  Assists with managing the Field Support, Project Controls, Procurement, Schedule, Meetings, Project Administration, Safety, Close-out, and other project responsibilities. 

                               

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Operations

  • Develops strong relationships with all members of the project team by communicating effectively, soliciting input, and providing guidance and support as needed.

 

Field Support

  • Provides support to Superintendent on open issues, including submittals and RFI’s.

  • Submits and manages shop drawings by coordinating receipt of required deliverables from trade partners as required by the contract documents and Submittal Register.

  • Posts drawings and specifications by reviewing approved changes to the contract documents with Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager.

  • Coordinates receipt of as-built documentation from trade partners.

  • Assists Superintendent with Field Work Orders (FWO) and helps coordinate FWOs with project team.

  • Coordinates deliveries with Superintendent.

 

Project Controls

  • Manages the RFI process with input from the project team to forward to the design team or owner.

  • Works with Senior Project Engineer /Project Manager assist with documentation in Procore.

  • Works with Project Manager to assist with Change Order Management.

 

Procurement

  • Assists and manages the submittal process.

  • Creates procurement letters from submittal register and project schedule.

  • Provides on-going follow up throughout entire procurement process.

  • Follows up weekly on critical procurement items.

  • Updates all activities in Procore weekly.

 

Schedule

  • Learns and assists with managing and updating schedules through Microsoft Office.

  • Assists Superintendent with 2-3 week look-ahead schedule.

 

Meetings

  • Prepares and distributes agenda prior to each progress meeting and Owner/Architect/Contractor meeting.

  • Prepares and distributes minutes to the project team following each meeting within 48 hours.

  • Administers pre-installation meetings with Superintendent and trade partners and documents discussions and decisions resulting from the meetings.

  • Participates in Progress Meetings and potentially runs meetings.

 

Project Administration

  • Documents weather delays, and other delays, on a weekly basis.

  • Prepares and distributes transmittals through Procore.

  • Distributes Pricings Requests, Architectural Supplemental Instructions and drawings to project teams and trade partners.

 

Safety

  • Participates in safety audits with Superintendent and/or Safety Manager by attending safety walkthroughs. 

  • Completes 10-hour OSHA Training.

 

Close-Out

  • Leads close out activities with assistance of Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager.

  • Manages punch list by logging open items and distributing list to trade partners. Follows up as necessary.

  • Documents changes to contract documents and coordinates receipt of as-builts from trade partners.

  • Manages and coordinates Operations & Management (O&M) collection from trade partners.

 

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION/CLIENT MANAGEMENT

  • Builds and maintains superior relationships with clients, architects, project teams, and trade partners.

 

PRECONSTRUCTION

  • Learns about and assists with preparing subcontracts by drafting the scopes of work.

 

LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  • Seeks feedback and input from associates to improve skills and processes.

 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Proficiency in computer applications, preferably Microsoft Office.

  • Exposure to / ability to use Procore



WORKING CONDITIONS

The position requires work in an office and job site environment.
