The Roeland Park City Council will be voting on an ordinance which would make sexual orientation, gender identity and military status protected classes within the city.
All signs point to the vote being very close.
We need your help:
1) Attend the Council meeting - wear royal blue as a sign of solidarity with equality. The meeting and public comments begin at 7 pm, so showing up early is a great idea.
2) Sign up to speak before the Council on why you believe it is an important ordinance to pass- yellow sign up sheets will be available at the meeting
3) Spread the word! Bring your friends, family and loved ones with you- all in blue! In particular, we need Roeland Park resident supporters to make their voices heard so please reach out to the Roeland Parkers you know and encourage them to get involved.
The public comment is at the top of the agenda and the ordinance is at the bottom. No telling how long the meeting will last but 2 hours is a good guess.
