What you'll do...

The Corporate Receptionist greets, welcomes, and assists associates, guests, clients, and building tenants at our Downtown Kansas City corporate office, creating a positive and professional first impression for the organization. This role serves as the primary point of contact for visitors and tenants, directing individuals appropriately, answering inquiries, managing building access, and ensuring front desk operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Corporate Receptionist is responsible for front desk communications, visitor management, credentialing, and telephone operations within a multi-tenant office environment.

Day to day, you'll...

  • Greet and welcome guests, visitors, building tenants, and H&R Block associates in a friendly and professional manner
  • Serve as the first point of contact for both H&R Block and tenant organizations, providing courteous assistance and clear information
  • Direct guests and tenants to appropriate locations and issue access credentials and visitor badges using the designated visitor and badging systems
  • Manage and maintain badge credentials for H&R Block associates and building tenants in accordance with building access protocols
  • Notify H&R Block associates and tenant contacts of guest arrivals in a timely manner
  • Manage telephone, entry gate, and call box communications to support guests, tenants, and associates
  • Validate parking tickets and provide entrance and exit instructions as needed
  • Relay information and maintain accurate visitor and tenant activity logs (electronic or hard copy) for audit and tracking purposes
  • Comply with established policies, procedures, and manuals; maintain a clean and orderly receptionist area
  • Provide emergency management support and escalate issues as appropriate within a shared building environment
  • Exercise sound judgment while carrying out assigned responsibilities and other related duties
What you'll bring to the team...
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify people’s needs with diplomacy and tact
  • Ability to utilize telecommunications, computer systems, and other electronic tools
  • Basic technical proficiency, including the ability to learn and navigate badge access, visitor management, and related front desk systems
  • Ability to multitask efficiently while exercising sound judgment and making timely decisions
It would be even better if you also had...
  • Prior experience as a commercial receptionist, preferably in a corporate or multi-tenant environment
  • Experience in a role requiring frequent public interaction and customer service
  • Comfort presenting a professional image and demeanor at all times
