Saint Luke's East Hospital is seeking a part-time Night Resource Registered Nurse. In this role, you get the opportunity to be an extended preceptor to new grads and new staff.

This role collaborates with unit leadership in supporting the acute inpatient units. Serves as a positive professional role model, exhibiting clinical leadership and decision-making skills.

Shift Details: Part Time Night Shift (2, 12 hour shifts per week, which includes 1 clinical bedside shift per pay period).

 

The Work:

  • Actively rounding on all units to provide support and resources.
  • Mentor and extended preceptor to New Graduate RN and new acute care RN's.
  • Support clinical, communication and professional skill development.
  • Coach on efficiencies in care provision.
  • Review and provide feedback on efficient and accurate documentation.
  • Review and provide feedback on care plan and patient education documentation.
  • Partner with nurses on decision making and chain of command.
  • Lead a debrief group discussion about any acute patient changes after patient stabilizes
  • Education resource to night staff partnering with clinical education specialist, facilitating flow of information regarding observations / skills.
  • Support for completion of annual competency requirements.
  • Reinforce patient care, process improvement and/or documentation changes.
  • Support for nursing staff on best practices for procedures/medications.
  • Assist staff with rapid responses/code blues, CIRTs and other urgent patient care situations.
  • Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately.
  • Identifies hospital resources.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for new employees including staff development.
  • Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within units or departments.
