About Us

Made in KC opened in May of 2015 to provide local Kansas City artists and makers a platform to reach customers in Overland Park. As many of the city's artists, designers, and makers are centralized around midtown and Kansas City's budding Crossroads district, Made in KC aimed to provide exposure and access to the greater metro area. The Overland Park store at Prairiefire became a quick success and led to a second location in the Village at Briarcliff in North KC in October 2015.
By spring of 2016, Made in KC was able to open a third location in Prairie Village at Corinth Square and began two new partnerships with HMK on the Country Club Plaza and at Hallmark in Crown Center. Made in KC opened their fourth shop location in the Crossroads in the winter of 2017 as well as the first Made in KC Cafe in the Downtown area. In summer of 2018, the Made in KC Marketplace on the Country Club Plaza opened, showcasing individual vendors in personally designed spaces as well as the second Made in KC Cafe and first bar. The Marketplace also offers ice cream and bubble tea as well as a small sandwich shop.

Growing from a pop-up shop with 13 artists, Made in KC now features work from over 300 local artists, designers, and makers. With six stand-alone locations and many partnership locations, Made in KC aims to provide a robust platform for local small businesses to reach customers throughout the Kansas City metro area. With one partnership, we give brands access to geographically and demographically different locations.
