Description
This Month at MasterMinds:
Help Outskrts Grow in 2019!
Outskrts is a new, homegrown festival for all the people on the outskirts of the queer community. Over 800 people attended their first LBTQ+ festival in 2018! For 2019, they are looking for assistance in expanding their community participation; exploring new venue location options; and finding new funding sources.
About Outskrts: They are a festival for all the people on the outskirts of the queer community. Women. Female Identifying. Trans Women. People of Color. Trans Men. 99% of the performers, vendors, organizers, and festival goers fall under the outskirts umbrella. It's not a "women only festival" but it is centered towards women in that they expect the largest percentage of the umbrella (performers, vendors, organizers, and festival goers) will be women. The festival includes music, comedians, vendors, health services, drum circles, food trucks, kids activities, and more. Outskrts is a supported by Our Spot KC.
Join us at the January MasterMinds session on Tuesday, January 29th, 7:30 am to 9:00 am. MasterMinds will be held at Bishop-McCann, located at 1701 Walnut, Kansas City, MO.
