Description
The Kansas City District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration is pleased to host Brian Castro, National Ombudsman at our upcoming Regulatory Fairness Forum for Small Business. The forum will be held Monday, August 25, 2014 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at the United States Federal Courthouse, Western District of Missouri, 400 East 9th St. (4th Floor, Training Room), Kansas City, MO 64106. The Office of the National Ombudsman assists small businesses facing unfair regulatory enforcement actions, excessive fines and penalties, retaliation, or compliance with disproportionately burdensome regulations involving federal agencies. The Ombudsman provides an independent channel for reporting such problems, an impartial liaison between the business and the agency in question, and the opportunity to obtain high-level agency review of the regulatory action or issue impacting small business. This event is open to all members of the small business community, trade organizations, chambers of commerce and media. Those wishing to report a federal regulatory concern confidentially will also have the opportunity to do so privately at the forum. There is no fee for this roundtable event However, due to limited seating, RSVP is required NLT Monday, August 18, 2014.
