The Paxton home is a true Kansas City landmark steeped in history. Wight & Wight, whose achievements include the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, designed this magnificent estate home for the Ward family. The home was built in 1906 on a 2.7 acre lot with a splendid view of the Loose Park Rose Garden. The house features a grand staircase and stained-glass windows on the mezzanine level that captivate all who enter, including artists, writers and entertainers who have graced this entry over the years.
