We are thrilled to welcome Peggy Rajski, Founder of the Trevor Project, as our featured speaker this year.
Peggy Rajski is an Academy Award-winning director for her directorial debut, the short film TREVOR, a poignant comedy about a young teen whose world is turned upside down when word spreads at school that he might be gay. After the film, Rajski discovered there weren't any nationwide suicide prevention crisis services available to support gay & questioning young people, a high-risk group. In response, she founded The Trevor Project.
The Trevor Project is the country's first toll-free 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention hotline dedicated to LGBTQ+ youth. The Trevor Project now annually answers over 200,000 outreach calls via phone, text and chat from young people in crisis around the country. Rajski served as the organization's inaugural Executive Director and has continued as a member of Trevor's Board of Directors ever since.
We're excited to announce that this year's No Place Like Home event will qualify as a continuing education credit from the National Association of Social Workers!
