Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining and servicing Unity’s vehicle and equipment fleet to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and compliance.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform timely servicing, inspection, and repair of trucks, heavy equipment, small engines, and golf carts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance and repairs.
- Order, track, and install necessary repair parts; maintain inventory of supplies.
- Ensure all fleet vehicles meet Missouri state inspection and licensing requirements.
- Assist the Manager and department personnel with equipment needs and special projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices for vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule for all fleet vehicles and equipment to minimize breakdowns and extend the life of assets.
- Utilize electronic diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle and equipment faults.
- Support snow removal efforts, including working weekends or holidays as needed.
- Monitor and maintain road conditions, including patching and repairing roads.
- Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. – this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.
- Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.
Education: High School Diploma/GED equivalent. Technical Training for Automotive Repair.
Experience:
- 2–5 years of automotive repair experience, or a combination of technical training and experience totaling 7 years.
- Experience diagnosing, identifying, and repairing vehicle and equipment issues.
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting and reading electrical diagrams.
- Prefer experience working on diesel engines
- Prefer experience working on heavy equipment and tractors.
- Prefer experience working on golf carts.
- Prefer experience working on small engines.
Computer Skills:
- Basic end user PC experience.
- Working knowledge of keyboard/mouse and windows.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel.
Certificates & Licenses:
- Have or ability to obtain A/C License for handling of refrigerant and disposal.
- Technical training schools certificate preferred.
- Missouri chauffeur’s license is required.
