POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician performs varied and skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment. The Maintenance Technician performs manual, semi-skilled, and skilled work in maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment in a multi-facility organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Completes maintenance work orders as assigned and in a timely manner.
· Performs semi-skilled and skilled facilities maintenance work involving carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
· Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring activities on a variety of equipment.
· Paints, patches, and plasters walls.
· Repairs and replaces wall tile, floor tile. various wall coverings and fixtures.
· Assembles, repairs, and constructs furniture, doors, shelves, and various equipment.
· Replaces HVAC filters and performs minor maintenance to HVAC units to keep condensate drains unclogged, etc.
· Replaces light bulbs and tubes and repairs/replaces ballasts.
· Performs basic plumbing repairs and installation to include but not limited to opening stopped sewage and drain lines, faucets, toilets, sinks, valves, and other various plumbing fixtures and equipment.
· Troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces electrical outlets, lighting fixtures and overcurrent protection devices.
· Complies with all existing Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and regulations.
· Responds to staff requests for maintenance in a prompt, professional, and helpful manner.
· Assists with snow removal including shoveling, spreading ice melt, and monitoring building conditions.
· Assists with moving loading, unloading, and storing supplies, furniture, and equipment.
· Drive medical transport vehicles between locations and deliver to maintenance
· Maintains an inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; notifies supervisor of tools that need to be replaced.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year's experience in building maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license and active auto liability insurance.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
· Skills in one or more of the following maintenance areas: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
