Manager, Network Development

Summary
The Manager of Network Development is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of contracting activates for new provider recruitment and retention. This position is responsible for the oversight of a team of Territory Managers and/or National Account Managers to monitor performance, provide guidance and coaching, and to assure that performance goals are met. This role has oversight of a region of states to monitor and manage the dental network, ensuring that cost/savings goals, adequacy, and compliance goals of the company are being met. Negotiates the most complex and challenging contractual relationships with dental providers, DSO, and consultants. Responsible for the development and oversight of network development policies, procedures, and standard operating practices. Understands regulatory environment and ensures contractual compliance with federal and state requirements.
 
Duties

  • Collects statistical data from recruitment efforts. Uses data to guide strategy and make decisions regarding adjustments to recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Provides regular feedback that facilitates individual employee development. Holds direct reports accountable for producing quantity, quality, and timely results.  Recommends promotion, termination, or reassignment of employees. Schedules and conducts performance reviews. Conducts meetings with employees to communicate organizational and departmental changes as necessary.
  • Leverages data within assigned region to monitor key financial information, including fee schedule assignments, claims utilization, and fee review results to understand impact to GEHA and client claims costs.
  • Creates training and development materials and implements formal training classes for department staff.
  • Works with the Director, Network Development to provide feedback and information to develop and adjust recruitment strategy.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to the contracting process, including contract language, rates, negotiation strategies, and increased savings.
  • Develops and prepares weekly and monthly provider recruitment reports, network access reports, network savings report, and overall network summary reports. Analyzes results and reports issues or trends to Manager, Provider Network.
  • Oversees workflow and processes regarding Practice Management Consultants.
  • Ensures integrity of provider network and compliance with GEHA policies and pertinent regulatory and accreditation guidelines.
  • Plans annual strategy for recruitment and retention in alignment with long-term and short-term goals.
 
Education Requirements
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or related field, additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
 
Experience Requirements
  • Requires 5 years of experience in the dental/healthcare industry or similar experience with sales and contract performance management, including 3 years of experience managing or leading a team
  • Must possess a successful track record negotiating large, complex contracts
  • Must possess a successful track record of collaborating with multiple departments and other senior leaders in developing and deploying provider network strategies 
  • Must possess highly effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to address a wide range of audiences
  • Must possess presentation skills and experience presenting to large groups
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and work independently
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Experience in developing a high performing team, developing a plan for teams to successfully achieve goals and leading teams through change
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree
  • High level of analytic ability
  • Proficient level of experience with Salesforce and Excel
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, CDT, dental procedures, and products
