Grounds Worker
Position Summary:
Provide landscape maintenance service to maintain and beautify Unity Village grounds and 9-hole golf course. Responsible for operation and maintenance of landscape and farm machinery.
Essential Job Functions:
Operate mowing equipment and do daily adjustments and maintenance which includes push and tractor mowers, greens, tees, fringe.
Operate power hand tools.
Operate tractors, brush hog mowers, plows, discs, planters, chain saws.
Make daily decisions without direct supervision to maintain and upgrade Unity’s golf course.
Perform routine golf course tasks including cut and change pin placements, rake sand traps.
Perform routine daily tasks including mowing, weed eating, planting and apply fertilizers or chemicals.
Perform winter maintenance on mowing units – grind and sharpen reels, disassemble, analyze, replace needed parts, assemble and adjust mowing units.
Repair irrigation heads, valves and piping.
Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. – this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.
Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
Snow removal, as needed.
Conduct golf car maintenance or repairs, as needed.
Work on call for after hour duties (weekends and holidays) as required.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
18 years of age.
3 years’ experience in landscape or grounds care.
6 months of landscape machinery equipment and farm machinery experience.
Good Customer service skills to assist campus patrons with directions or other requests.
Computer Skills:
Certificates & Licenses:
Missouri Chauffeurs license or willing to obtain once employed.
Bucket truck certification or willing to obtain once employed.
